Avalon Airport needed to relaunch itself as a serious alternative to Melbourne Airport to keep airlines on board. The previous look was very corporate and not targeted at the people who would actually use the airport. The new look introduces a vibrant and friendly colour palette, bold typography that speaks to the average flyer and simple graphics.
One of Avalon’s main hurdles is when people book flights on third party services which often only list flights out of Melbourne Airport. The rebrand launched with a new website allowing travellers to book flights right on the home page.
Following the website launch a series of outdoor billboards were placed near Melbourne Airport using the new colour palette and bold typography pointing people to the website.
I was responsible for creating and deploying an easy to use branding system that could easily be applied across print, digital and social media campaigns.
